I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Mr. Lineman a variety of times over the years. Below is a timeline of those situations.
1961-1962
My first remembrance of Mr. Lineman was of him coaching when he first started in 1961-62. I was in elementary school at the time and lived one mile from the school so I was able to watch the beginnings of all of the school’s sports.
1964
In 1964 I was a 7th Grader. Mr. Lineman was our gym teacher. As part of gym class he had six week modules for football, basketball, wrestling, and track. During the wrestling module I would have to wrestle “Bear” (Bob Loveless) being that we were the two biggest in the class. By the end of those 6 weeks I knew how many lights there were in the Reynolds gym. Things evened out though when we got to the basketball module.
1974
Upon graduation from Edinboro I got a job teaching 5th Grade in Whitesville WV. There were no coaching positions in the area the first few years I was there. In my second year I asked the principal if I could start a wrestling club for the elementary kids. He said yes. I always came in the summers and the holidays and on my next trip home I went to see Mr. Lineman and asked for any advice. He shared some info with me and he gave me a book of wrestling basics.
1992
I moved back home in 1990. In 1992 I produced the Camp Reynolds 50th Anniversary Video. As part of that I video interviewed ten people that had been associated with the Camp. Mr. Lineman was one of them. As a young boy he and his brother would go to the Camp to shine shoes. 1998
In 1998 I started the Reynolds Wrestling website. Not long after starting the site I went to see Mr. Lineman about getting pics of his wrestling mementos which he allowed me to do. It was nice to get to chat with him about the early days of Reynolds Wrestling.
2000
In 2000 I started to have Pre-season Online Chats on the website with Coach Hills. I also had two Online Chats with Mr. Lineman in 2000.
You can read them on the Archives page on the Reynolds Wrestling website.

2010
In 2010 I produced Reynolds High School's 50th Anniversary Videos. As part of that I video interviewed former teachers, coaches and students. Mr. Lineman was one of them.

2014
In 2014 Leslie Barret of WFMJ Channel 27 did a short segment on Camp Reynolds around Veteran’s Day. We had my mom’s cousin who had worked at the Camp’s Post Office and Mr. Lineman who had shined shoes at the Camp as part of the segment.
