Great job at Phillipsburgh guys, you looked solid all the way from "the snake" to "cecil". Thats Jake Habel to Mike Hills incase you didn't know. Mike way to go, I don't think anyone expected that, but theres always room for improvement! Nick Sommerfeld, that was a good tournament for your first varsity win, always remember, you were probably in the toughest weight class. Jerry good job on the OW buddy. The record at Phillipsburgh too, wow, good luck the rest of the season and pile up many more records!! Way too go Dippy!!

dont let what people say affect the way you wrestle, you are an outstanding wrestler and i believe in you. wrestle with your heart, have confidence, and stay focused.

Comments:

Back in the 80's Hickory wrestling had a wrestler that wrestled with more aggression than I have ever seen. He was a State Champion as a Junior. Now that Reynolds has a few wrestlers that wrestle with everything they got and are intense, others want to over re-act. Keep up the great job Raiders and go for it all!

To the Reynolds Wrestling Program:

I just wanted to tip my hat to a program for which I have a lot of respect. Your wrestlers are always ready to go and conduct themselves with lots of class.

It's been fun competing against you in the Ultimate Duals and at States the past couple of years.

Good luck and best wishes for the upcoming season, as you strive to achieve your 500th win. (Our program also hopes to reach this milestone sometime this season.) We hope to see you at Hershey!

A fan from Wyalusing, PA

Comments:

It was great to see the "old" coaches at the Grove City match. Interesting that all the coaches after Coach Lineman were all former wrestlers of his. WOW!! It was nice that the former coaches & wrestlers were recognized because they helped make it to 500 victories. To bad we could not see them very well with the poor lighting.

An old fan

Comments:

Congratulations to the Reynolds Wrestling Team for their 500th career victory. The evening was made extra special by honoring all the former coaches, as well as, the alumni wrestlers. Reynolds Wrestling has provided many great memories for this community and this is just one more that will stay in the hearts and minds of all those that were able to witness this incredible achievement. Continued success now and in the years to come.
Robyn (Lineman) Weaver

Comments:

Congratulations to Coach Hills and the Reynolds Wrestling Team on reaching the 500th victory in RHS History. To be included in the celebration was truly an honor. Being in the RHS gym watching these young men carry on the winning tradition that began many years ago always fills me with pride, but, being able to sit with the team as an honorary "Coach" for this special evening meant more than you can imagine. It brought back many wonderful memories. It was also wonderful to see the alumni wrestlers honored as well. Thank you for including me in the celebration - it is a evening I will never forget. Continued Success. "Coach" Neal Lineman

Comments:

Great job this past weekend at Brookville-however, we came up just short of our goals.
Now that we know what we have to do in order to  beat Wilson let's get back in the gym and bust our butts!!!
The winner of the rematch will be who works harder and wants it more from now til' February 9th.
Keep that in mind and I'm sure we'll bring home the GOLD!
My Most Brutally Aggressive Guy(s) Uninhibited By Adversity for the Wilson match are
112 "Gerald" Kendall and 275 "Cecil" Hills.
Also- lets not forget Justin Nestor moving up two weights for the team--Overall very good team effort---
Best of luck the rest of the year.

Comments:

Great job at the duals guys. Though I hate to say anything negative, I'll just say that there were numerous questionable calls. But that's OK, cuz when we get to Hershey and wrestle them again, I know it will be a "W" for us. Keep focused you guys are on the verge of something special.

Comments:

keep it rolling guys. You will get a chane to get em again and this time it will be differernt. Good luck. Now the fun really starts

U guys have done a super job this yr. U make us proud both on and off the mat. The class which u handle urselves is 2nd to none. HOLLOBAUGH
you have shown once again that characteristics of the most brutally aggressive guy uninhibited by adversity (BAGUBA), you have the power to dominate over anyone when you put your heart into it. i have been watching you this year and i am going to continue to watch you kick some major butt. i hope to see you get a little more aggressive. you are by far the most exciting wrestler to watch on that mat and i am by far your biggest fan. continue with the good work and remember to dominate this year! i see you with the gold. now it is up to you!

Sorry Muskie fans it didn't happen in 1993 and surley won't happen this year at the "tank". Lets not forget that the raiders are the team to beat here. We will be the one's beating up on you tonight and on Wilson at the "State Dual Meets." Alumni 93'

FEBRUARY 2001

Comments:

Good luck in the team duals. Show the U.C. Bears what sportsmanship is all about. Beware of the slammed bear because it does not get up. In over 15 years of association with the FCVC I have never seen a UC wrestler get up from a slam. This practice of taking the dive qualified them for the team duals and ruined a wrestlers undefeated season. Go Raiders and KICK THE BEARS!

HEY RAIDERS!

Justin Hollabaugh:

I would like to publicly applaud you FIRST on your great season this year. You have the drive, guts, and determination to make it all the way to #1 in Hershey this year and bring home a state championship.

You have also greatly impressed me off the mat with your winning personality. I have watched you a lot in the past couple of years. I've seen you publicly apologize for injuries other wrestlers sustained while wrestling you. It takes one heck of a person to do that!

I have also watched you with the younger wrestlers you come in contact with, both from your own school and from others. There are a lot of little guys out there that really admire you Justin and your kind words to them have not gone without notice! My son is a great fan of yours, as are my husband & I.

Good luck the rest of season Justin. GO FOR THE GOLD!!! You certainly deserve it.

hey guys,
don't be ashamed or down after the Wilson match. It is disappointing, but we still have a VERY LEGITIMATE shot at winning the State Tournament next month. That should be everyone's goal at this point. As fans we know you can never count out any RAIDER. Thanks for inspiring our younger wrestlers.

Raiders,
You guys have gone so far and have been through a lot. Wilson was a tough team...and we just didn't wrestle as good as usual. But thats ok. We have a lot of young talent on our team, they also had 12 starters returning from last years season. It was just a bad match.
Now we look ahead to the individual championships... Jerry, this is your year! You have had a terrific season and I'm positive you will be standing at the top of that podium in the Hershey Park Arena... Justin H. \You must have a lot of will power to get down to 19, I believe this year you can be on top as well if you set your mind to it. Don't ever limit yourself. As for Josh, Nathan, and Rocky... You guys should be truckin' it to Hershey as well. There is always times where you come out and impress everyone. Nestor, you know what you want and I believe you will get it. Spread your determination throughout the rest of the team.
Good luck these next 4 weeks... for some of you it will be your last. Wrestle with all you've got. I'm behind you guys all the way!

Rocky,
First of all thank you for all the thrills
you've given us old time raiders over the last
four years. You have had some tough breaks over
the last two years, but you have handled the
situations like a man. This is just a small bump
on your lifes road. Keep your chin up kid, this
too shall pass.

Comments:

Congratulations on yet another District X title. I believe the district tournament is the local benchmark that measures the success and direction of any program. While the section tournament is sometimes spartan and with the outcome of the regional and state tournaments frequently skewed by one or two outstanding individuals, the district competition is truly the report card. Your 12 individual district champions over the last three years easily out-distances number two Sharpsville with 4 champs and third placers Commodore Perry and Seneca with 3 a piece. A dozen champions is almost one-third of the 39 total weight classes entered from 1999-01! Interestingly, there are 11 schools with only one district champ during this period (Ft.LeBoeuf, for example) and another nine schools, including a strong program like Eisenhower, that have had none. This shows how difficult a district championship is to obtain. Best wishes in the future. --Coach Hinderliter, RHS Track & Field.

Comments:

District 10 better get on the ball if it ever what's to compete with the teams in the eastern part of the state. Last night the referee took away one of the best wrestlers from 135# weight class with a terrible slam call. Rocky Habel and the other Reynolds wrestlers wrestle not dance. The teams in the east, Wilson, Easton, etc... wrestle as well. Here in the west and in district 10 nobody wants to be aggressive. It also takes a real coward to walk off the mat and accept a victory when your OK to wrestle. It is also my understanding that the coaches want complete wrestle backs at the district level. Then why don't we? We are the only district in the state that don't have complete wrestle backs.

High School Wrestling Fan! (I don't like watching two guys dance)

Comments:

David MAY you get the heart award. Here's a guy who got eliminated earlier in the season, and now he's a runner-up and regional qualifier. Heart award runner up is Tyler Middleton. Same thing. Both of you two showed alot of guts. Tuff guys wrestle, wimps don't. Kepp pushing on the team needs you two.

Comments:

Congratulations to Justin NESTOR. A true champion in the meaning of the word, on as well as off the mat. We as fans sometimes take for granted what you do for the team, but that's what sets you apart. YOU DO ANYTHING FOR THE TEAM. Youth wrestlers take note, if you want to be a CHAMPION this is the one you want to be strive to be like.

Comments:

Good job guys at districts. From what I hear Rocky got screwed, but you had a great career Rock. Way to go Hillsy, you better be wrestling 2 weeks from now at Hershey. Good to see the area was represented well at Districts. Keep up the good work, and win one for Rocky.

Jerry Kendall, after this weekends tournament it's clear to us fans whoo numero uno in the state at 103 is, and it's not HARTRUM. 5th then 3rd and now the only logical progression is 1rst. Good job and good luck.

Comments:

Nate Kimmy, you never quit. Remember when you leave this summer and aspire to bigger goals the saying goes "The only easy day was yesterday". Keep your great work ethic and attitude and send us a picture when you get the ultimate medal- The Trident.

DIPPY, We all believed in you. Now we know you believe in you. Don't let up.

Good job regional qualifiers. I knew we could step it up. Rocky, what can be said. You never ever quit when your luck was bad the past couple of seasons. Quitters never win and winners never quit. Thus in the eyes of the fans you will always be a winner.

I suppose I could agree with the heart award comments above, but NOBODY can forget about Joel Davis. The kid went up 2 or 3 weights just to wrestle for the raiders, and made it to districts..My CoNgRaTs..Joel Davis

Comments:

Hey Rocky-
no one can say anything to erase this weekend, however
I would like to thank you for the many exciting matches
that you have provided us over these past four years. The
sport of wrestling is a very difficult and aggressive
one, however you were penalized for the one thing that we love
the sport for: Physical Wrestling. I believe that you were
singled out by the referees and were used to make a point to the
rest of the wrestlers in the tournament. Nevertheless, you
have made an impact on your peers as well as the fans
and our younger wrestlers. You have nothing to be ashamed of
and the vocal Raider fans are not the only fans that think
you were on your way to achieving great things such as a medal
down in Hershey! Keep your head up and be a boost for your
teammates the rest of the way!!!
-A good friend

Comments:

Nate Kimmy-
You had an excellent year and although your goals may not have been
accomplished, you have certainly proven to everyone that you are a
class act on and off the mat. Good luck in everything you do and
thanks for the memories

Comments:

Rocky- keep your head up buddy. I know how you were feeling..like everyone and everything was against you. It is hard to wrestle back after being called for a slam. You wrestled like yourself and thats all there is to it. Nobody can take anything away from you.You are a great wrestler and one of the best practice partners I have ever had. I owe a lot to you Rock. If it werent for you pushing me and me pushing you in practice I wouldnt be where I am today. You are a good kid and a great friend. It makes me sick that a referee would take your carrear away from you like that. We grew up together you were my first friend and partner in practice. It makes me sad that we have been through everything in wrestling together and I had to watch your last match go out like that. I wished it could have been different and if I could I would switch you places. I still got one more year. Good luck in the future I'll miss you next year.
Your dude, Justin

Now after this weekend, YOU should know YOU can do it. Now what you got to do is practice hard, work hard, and wrestle hard. show everyone what your made of. you already proved it to me, and yourself.

i am so very proud to be a RHS student and fan because our wrestlers kick butt!!we're having 3 of them go to hershey and 3 other ones that deserve to be there!!! mike and tyler- next year! dave-i dont know what to say, you deserve to be wrestling at hershey more than ANYONE! i know you couldve and shouldve been there!!!

Comments:

Justin,
I was at the Regional Tournament, and was watching the match between Fejes and you. First off I want to tell you that you wrestled like a true CHAMPION, it showed when you never quit, 8 seconds left and losing by 1 point and you reversed him, that shows how much determination and guts you have. Now for all the HICKORY FANS that was yelling down the whole match that you sucked, and was booing you SHAME ON THEM, they wouldn't want to see there wrestler booed. The HICKORY FANS really don't know what a true CHAMPION YOU are! I heard you have been going though alot since the HICKORY/REYNOLDS match that alot of people don't know about, and too wrestle and come out on top with that on your mind shows everyone what determation you have to be the TOP GUN here and at HERSHEY!!!!!!!!!!!! WANT TO SEE YOU ON TOP OF THE STAND WITH GOLD AROUND YOUR NECK YOU SURE DESERVE IT!

Comments:

Congratulations to the "three J's" on their performances at Regionals. Now go to Hershey and let's see 3 first places back in Reynolds. Jerry, you know this is your year. Justin N., you are awesome. Justin H., you can come back and do it. Just keep wrestling with all your determination. Good luck to all three of you.

1 match away buddy, i saw the determination in your eyes the last match. We knew it would be hard for you this season but you almost pulled it off, even with all the disadvantages. You were pretty even with Faulkner in every match with him and its unfortunate that he will be at hershey and not you. You will be there the next two years of your career and standing on the podium. We're all very proud of You

Jerry... you have what it takes to be #1 you proved that last year, everyone that was there knows you should have beat Herzog. you are the man to beat stay focused and wrestle ALL 6 minutes and the gold is yours.
Justin Nestor...You are the man. I wished everybody could just come into practice and see just how hard you really work. You are the hardest worker I know. You never complain or let up at all. I wished I knew what motivated you every single day to wrestle as hard as you do. You deserve your third state title I know it will be yours.

Everytime he would see a message that you put on here we would all be wondering who it was that was "THE GREENVILLE MOM". And I just want to say
THANK YOU! you not only made him feel good about himself but you also made us as parents feel good! THANX AGAIN Cheryl Hollobaugh

Mr. & Mrs. Hollobaugh:

You are very welcome and should be very proud of Justin. I can remember when my boys started out wrestling 6 years ago watching Justin wrestle at the tournaments. He has grown into a fine young man. He has truly impressed me with his sincerity and maturity.

My boys have made many wonderful wrestling friends through the years including Reynolds Raiders.

It's one thing to have school pride but another when spectators make rude, uncalled for comments because of what school the wrestlers are from or the way they wrestle. It really bothers me when they blow things out of proportion.

I may be a "Greenville Mom" but I will always root for all of the children our family has befriended, no matter WHAT school they wrestle for. I hope the same holds true for my sons as they continue up through junior high, junior varsity, and varsity. I hope that there will always be people to encourage them instead of always having something negative to say.

Justin, may all your dreams come true at Hershey. And no matter what the outcome is, you should be very proud of what you have accomplished and what you can accomplish next year. Our thoughts are with you.

Diana "The Greenville Mom"

P.S. Sorry this is a bit lengthy, I get carried away sometimes!

All three of you are champs and I am proud to call the Reynolds area "my home" even if I have been gone for a long time. JERRY-
I TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE A TRUE CHAMPION BEFORE THIS WEEK END, NOW YOU HAVE THE TITLE. YOU DIDNT NEED THAT GOLD MEDAL AROUND YOUR NECK TO PROVE TO ANYONE THAT YOU ARE A TRUE CHAMP, BUT IT DOES ADD A NICE TOUCH TO THE REST OF YOUR COLLECTION. I JUST WANTED TO SAY ONE MORE TIME HOW PROUD I AM OF YOU. IT TAKES A LOT OF A PERSON TO DROP THAT MUCH WEIGHT IN A SEASON AND THEN GO OUT TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT IN WRESTLE WITH THE DEEPEST DETERMINATION IMAGINABLE. I WILL ADMIT YOU HAD MY HEART PUMPING OUT OF MY CHEST A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT I NEVER LOST MY FAITH IN YOU. RIGHT OFF THE WHISTLE IN THE FINAL MATCH...I KNEW YOU WERE THERE TO WIN IT. YOUR SPEED AND MOTION AMAZED ME. YOU MADE A LOT OF PEOPLE PROUD OF YOU SATURDAY, YOU MAKE ME PROUD EVERY DAY. I CANT BELIEVE IT IS OVER. IM GOING TO MISS WATCHING YOU WRESTLE, I DO BELIEVE IT BECAME A PART OF ME. BUT NOW I CAN FINALLY BREATH WITHOUT HAVING THINKING ABOUT YOUR NEXT MATCH... CONGRATUALATIONS AND I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. LET'S GO EAT!!

To the two of you, Jerry and Justin N, congrats again and hope you do well where ever you go in the future and to Justin H, your year is next year. You have the heart and dedication to be at the top and you will do it. I really truly believe that. I will be watching because I am a true RHS fan although I have been gone for a long time and I will follow you guys till the end of my days.

Even though I coach and teach elsewhere, I still have Blue & Gray blood and always will! Justin & Jerry, cherrish what you have accomplished, because there are a LOT of us out here that wish we could've done what you have. take care and I hope our paths cross in the future.

In the Battle of Life it is not the critic that counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled or where the doer of a deed could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face us marred by dust and blood and sweat; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcomings; who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion, spends himself in a worthy cause; who at best knows in the end the triumph of highest achievement; and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place should never be with those cold and timid souls who have tasted neither victory nor defeat.

Jerry, We have a really hard time putting into words how proud we are of you. You are an outstanding individual and worked so hard to make it to the top of that medal stand this past year. We would have been just as proud of you had you not gotten the gold, but as always you never gave up and won. No one can ever call you a quitter. I always told Casey I wanted a State Champ just like him - one who wasn't cocky, never gave up, and had time to talk to everyone - I got that Champ and A TRUE CHAMP you are. You didn't get a lot of the limelight, but you didn't want it anyways (we were all glad to see Justin Nestor get the recognition he deserved). I think you are a true role model for the younger kids to look up to not only in wrestling, but in all aspects of life. It's still hard to believe that whenever we go to the high school gym your name will be up on the wall with all the other state champs and everytime we look at it, it will bring tears to our eyes. Your comment in the paper after States is one that we hope you follow at Pitt and the rest of your life (I didn't come here for anything less). We are So PROUD and Love you.

All our love, MOM, DAD, Nick, Ray J, Heather, & Chewy

P.S. - I don't know if your dad's heart or mine could take anymore matches like the exciting ones you gave us this past year - Especially your last two. I don't think Nice N Easy will cover all the gray hairs you gave me.

Im going to start with you Rocky you were my first friend ever I remember the first day at wrestling practice, It was awesome we would wrestle at practice then go to your house or mine and wrestle on the floor Im sorry that things happened the way they did but you dealed with it like a man.
Justin- Man you are the best and always have been . You push yourself so hard its unreal. You deserve nothing but the best. I remember always asking you "How are you always motivated to wrestle everyday like that" and you would just shrug your shoulders and say that you liked it. Its somthing you really enjoy doing and you will do great at collage. Thanks for always pushing me to my best. Justin if it werent for you I could have just hung it all up. It was you with the tear in your eye in the locker room telling me that I needed to be there and "Ju" I really would have regreted not going on. thanks
Jerry- Man what can I say Gerald? The three J's. I knew you would win it this year I could tell at the begining of the year. You were my favorite practice partner and it really payed off I mean come on now you hit my move aginst hartrum in the finals you gotta be my friend forever now! HAHAHA
nah but hey man you are a really good friend you really helped me when I was losing weight and stuff thanks for everything buddy
Nate- Nate bomb you are a big dude and a cool captian Im glad you started wrestling but to bad not a lil sooner . You are a really hard working kid and you always give it your best you will do great as a "seal" Thanks for coming back in the locker room and talking to me man it meant a lot.
Josh- O man we had some fun times in the old practice room huh? we really had some battles. You really got the short end of the stick alot just things didnt go your way. It happens to everyone.
Dave- You made practice and matches interesting!

It was cool growing up together and watching us all improve through the years
I want to thank you all for all the memories and I will never forget any of you. It sure is going to be weird going a season without you but were gonna try our hardest
Thank you all and best of luck >??????>
