GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON TO THE REYNOLDS WRESTLING TEAM CH

December 1999

Comments:

I like to comment on what a great sight this is. I can't wait for the promised (wk. of 11/22/99) update to show up, now that it is 12/1/99. Oh well, I'll be sure to keep looking for it. To the Raider Wrestling Team; it's a shame that you don't get a little bit more credit, recognition, or coverage for your many years of success. Life isn't always fair, is it? Case-in-point; The local news paper has been running a "Team of the Decade" for the Greenville football team. Now nothing against the Greenville football team, they are good, NO, they are real good. However, they have not came through with the same State-Wide success as the Raider Wrestlers have. The true team of the decade would have to be the Raider matmen, who have won TWO State team titles and numurous individual state titles, not to mention the many Section, District, and MCAC Championships. Oh what fun it would be for the people of the reading area to choose an "All Decade Raider Wrestling Team", from teams that have won so much. I'll keep checking in for the 1999-2000 update, in the mean time best of luck to Coach Hills, his staff, and all the Raider Wrestlers as you prepare for yet another championship year. Alumni and lifetime Raider fan.

Comments:

I would just like to wish the Raiders of 2000 luck. Good luck this weekend at Phillipsburgh. Justin, just put your mind to it and you will do good. All your hard work and dedication would pay off. Eventually it will be your turn to stand above the number one podium wearing the gold.

The Reynolds wrestling team has big shoes to fill this year. I am sure if you ask anyone they will agree. I keep hearing people say we won't be as good as years in the past, well I AM WRITING THIS TO SHOW ALL THOSE PEOPLE THAT WE ARE UP FOR THE CHALLANGE. No matter what happens on the mat you just have to be in the practice room the intensity is immense you can't  just  judge our team by new faces, if everyone wants to talk about some of those people do it, I welcome you to come into our practice room but untill then I would keep quiet. we are now in full go and ready to take on anybody in our way. And to all you loyal fans we won't let ya down. WE ARE RAIDERS WRESTLING AND PROUD OF IT!!!!

Comments:

I think Reynolds wrestling is perfect because people for Reynolds wrestling for the little

Well the Greenville match is coming up and the tension is building up all us wrestlers are about to explode I just wanted to inform our fans that we are ready to take them on. The intensity in the practice room shows it we all are having fun and a good time but at the same time we are battling. We will win this match for you, us and our missing link Rocky Habel ... WE'RE GONNA WIN IT!

Comments:

Great Site! This is a wonderful venue for us out-of-town old timers to keep in touch with the team's successes.

I am excited that I will again be able to watch the Raiders wrestle Greenville (after twenty some years since the last time I saw the match).

Wrestle the Reynold's way - be aggressive and just go after them - and you will surely win. Adversities such as Rocky's injury are not new to the team. It just creates an opportunity for a new star to rise to the occasion.

Good luck & good skill!
Chuck Coryea

Comments:

There is not much that has to be said about the
Reynolds-Greenville match that is quickly approaching.
To the Reynolds wrestlers: You have worked very hard
in the practice room to obtain some of the goals that
you have made for yourself. The season is starting to heat
up and that means we need to turn it up one more notch.
Our team has been faced with adversity before and we have succeeded.
Put that hard work and dedication all on the line Thursday night and you will
get the job done. Stay focused and wrestle with intensity
when you're out there. Good Luck and WIN!!!!

only wish I could be there to see it.
Good Luck!!

Justin Hollobaugh......I checked out the Greenville Wrestling website, and I am IMPRESSED at your maturity for apologizing to the Greenville fans and Billy Collins, even though I believe that you meant no harm to him. From where I sat it could have been called either way. Wrestling is a tough sport, and there aren't many champions off of the mat. Stay focused and put it behind you. I think you've now taken that extra step. Good luck and we'll see you in Hershey.

Congrats to the Raiders on another convincing victory over Greenville. It is really nice to have another team that can challenge you. Great teams need great opponents. It makes former wrestlers like myself proud of the coaches and wrestlers that are carrying on a tradition of success. Great job, Brian! I am always honored to tell people that you were my coach! It is never good to loose to Greenville, but I think it will be ok to loose to Brookville in the future.

to reynolds wrestling program,
i thought that you would like to know that i currently work with a former reynolds wrestler, bob "bear" loveless, as an assistant coach. you will be glad to hear that the pride of reynolds wreslting has made it to arizona where the "bear" now lives and coaches.
the "bear" has been a great influence in my life as well as the wrestlers he has coached. he has turned a wrestling program that was non-exsistant when he took over, 3 years ago, to a program that will take 8 wrestlers to state this year. and in two more years the program will be state contenders.
i hope that someday our program will be as famous as the reynold wrestling program.

Comments:

Greetings ; The entry I read about Bob 'BEAR ' Loveless, reminded me not only of the great matches that the Bear wrestled; but also how great those teams of 1967-69 were. Under the great Coach Lineman the truly great wrestlers such as Bob and Bill Loveless, Jim Golner, Joe Spicko, Doug Groover, Lonnie Dawes, Jim and John Woods, Frankie Lane and Delbert Gearhart. I also was reminded of the recent untimely death of Bill Loveless; who was a lawyer in Texas. All the Reynolds Wrestling Family will miss Bill. Imagine when we all meet in Heaven...were gonna have a kick butt wrestling team up there. Continued success to all Reynolds Wrestlers... past, present and future. God Bless you all.

I went on the internet to try to get info on Reynolds wrestling for a colleague who is the wrestling coach here in Plum Borough, where I am the Gifted Coordinator.
I was really impressed with your great web page and enjoyed the wealth of information of Raider wrestling past and present.

I was the first mat maid at Reynolds.
Mr. Lineman took a chance on having a girl do stats and riding time. He took some flak for it but eventually people saw that it was a good idea.
When Coach Bubb at Clarion heard I had worked with Neil, he asked me to help the wrestling team there. Chuck Coryea was on that team and I haven't seen him in years. Glad to hear about his recent induction into the Mercer County Hall of Fame. He deserves it.

Keep up the good work and good luck at Sections through States.

More enduringly than any other sport, wrestling teaches self-control and pride. Many have wrestled without great skill, but none have wrestled without pride. The Raiders have pride! To the Varisty Wrestlers: You all did a wonderful job as a team as and as individuals. You worked hard and showed everyone what Reynolds Wrestling is all about. Each and everyone of you are real champs. Nate wonderful job - can't say enough about you. Josh, expect to be seeing you at State's next year. Dylon, you never backed away from anyone. Chad, I'm proud of how great you did, too! David, never count you out, you have shown us that. Mike, thanks for being our heavyweight. I would have looked at some of those others and changed my mind.

To the "Three J's": Justin N., We've watched you grow up through the years and NO ONE else knows what the want and goes after like you do. You deserve to be Number 1. Justin H., you worked really hard and gave everyone a lot of excitement this year and even though you did not place at States don't worry you have two more years (only joking you did great hold your head up high). Jerry, we really thought this was your year, but what can I say but that it was. Even though you did not bring home the gold you did a wonderful job and you NEVER give up and each year you have improved your record - your family thinks you are NUMBER 1 without the GOLD medal. We are so proud of you and are so proud to call you our son. Keep up the good work.

To the JO Wrestlers: You guys all did a wonderful job. Just to know that 19 of you made it to States. You all worked really hard and have done an OUTSTANDING JOB in carrying on the Reynolds Wrestling Tradition.

Burr,
Great job at J-town.I know that you had your heart set on gold, but it didn't work out. It is a lesson learned the hard way , but better now than in a few years. After all, there are no chocalate kisses on the lampposts so it is still just practice till then.

Dad

Congrats to Stephen, Matt, Eric, Brendan, Travis and Mike. And to the 13 others, keep working hard and improving and you will keep up the tradition of the blue and grey. Everyone of you are champs in my eyes. 19 to states is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of all the wrestlers and the coaching staff.

What a great site! As a proud daugther of "Coach" Lineman this is a true tribute to the love and dedication Dad had (and has) to Reynolds and "his" sport that will live on forever.

Being the coach's daugther was a cool thing even 30+ years ago.
. . . by the way he can still lock you up in a cradle without batting an eye. (Sorry that wrestling talk is in my blood)

I was very proud of the wrestling tradition that was Reynolds High School back in the 70's, and even prouder that the tradition lives on! As an alumnus of RHS, and former cheerleader, I have many fond memories of Raider wrestlers beating everyone they came up against. Even now living in Ohio, everyone knows Reynold High School because of its awesome wrestling program. Keep the tradition alive, and continue to make all of us RHS graduates proud to be a Raider!
Best of luck in all of the future matches! Vera (Bees) Shaver RHS '77 (vkbeezer59@juno.com)

Was just in a website called The Wrestling Spot. Found some former and present Raiders as featured outstanding wrestlers, Steve Popovich and the Nestors (Jason & Justin). Also the Reynolds wrestling website is number 17 in the country on their current list. Proud to call the Reynolds area my "home" even though I am no longer living there. Check out this site at www.wrestlingspot.com
